How involved will I be in the making of my DVD?
You can be as involved in the creating of your DVD as you want to be! We welcome your suggestions, ideas and requests. If you want your pictures in a certain order, just let us know. If you have an idea of how the pictures should be synchronized to the music. Tell us that too! If you know you want your video to fade from one scene to another in a certain spot, just say so. We really want to accommodate your desires for your project, so always feel free to put in your two cents, or even 20 cents worth!

On the same note, if you don't want to take the time and hassle to organize your photos, or don't feel like you have creative ideas and would rather give us the full artistic freedom to do what we do, that is fine too; heck that is why we are here!

So, just let us know what you would like and we will do our best to meet your needs.

How long will it take before I receive my order?
The answer to this all depends on what type of project you have ordered. Typical Memory Montage turnaround - depending on size - is about two weeks. For Home Movie Transfers, Photo Archivals, Photo Restorations, Web Solutions or Video and Photography - it all depends on the size of the project. But be assured that we strive to turn your project around as quickly as possible, but more importantly, as high quality as possible. When you place an order, we can give you a better estimate of time it will take.

Rush orders are available with a $20 fee per project. This will ensure a fast turn around for those last minute needs. If your Memory Montage is made for the memorial of a loved one, this $20 rush fee is waived.

What about rush orders for events like Memorials?
We do offer rush orders. For a memorial montage that is needed for the memorial service, we will rush your order at no additional charge. We understand how difficult it is when a loved one passes, and we would like to be as helpful as possible. For all other rush orders, there is a $20 fee per project.

How long will my NTP Memory Montage be?
The length of your montage of course depends on what package or options you choose, but the length of each montage can be calculated by the length of the songs you choose to put them to. Songs are around 4 minutes in length on average, although each montage is unique and therefore each will be a different length. We also have the ability to "trim down" songs in order to shorten songs to a certain length. This trimming down of songs helps with projects where more then one or two songs is desired, but the montage needs to be only a certain length. Please Contact Us for an idea of how long your specific project idea will be.

What music do you use? What if I don't own the song I want in my montage?
We will use any music you choose...the sky is the limit! The only stipulation is that you have to legally own it. This means that you will need to provide us with a legal copy of the music on CD or electronically. If you do not already own the song you wish to use, you may purchase the single song through a service like iTunes or we can purchase the song on your behalf for the standard price that the service charges. If you want some ideas on songs to use, you can feel free to contact us and we will give you some ideas.

What kind of photos do you work with? What size or format?
We accept many photo mediums such as digital formats (jpg, psd, gif, tiff, bmp, etc.), paper photos up to 8x10, 35 mm negatives and slides, and Medium Format slides. If you have a format you are not sure of, just give us a call or an email and we will see if we can accommodate your needs.

Will my originals be safe? Will they be returned?
We promise to take the best care of all of the original media you send us. We will treat each photo, slide or video as if it were our own.

When shipping your items to us, please carefully package them to make sure they arrive safely. It is wise to mark the packages with "Photos: Do Not Fold" and also use cardboard in the package. Also, please purchase insurance on your items through the company you choose to ship with. NTP Memories in Motion is not responsible for any damage that occurs during shipments.

Can I print copies of the pictures that are on my CD or DVD?
Yes you can! When we scan in your photos, slides or negatives, we put them onto a CD or DVD in a jpg format. Even your Memory Montage DVD will have your photos included in the DVD-ROM section of the DVD, accessible by your computer. We will scan your photos at a resolution of 300 dpi, which is a proper resolution for printing 4 x 6 photos. Now, all you need is a nice printer, or a ride to your local film developing store to have them print out additional copies of your pictures directly from your CD or DVD. It is really that simple!

Why should I preserve my memories on DVD?
DVDs are a more reliable, higher quality media type that has been designed to last much longer than the video tape formats that we are used to. That said, DVDs will also last longer than most of the pictures that you currently possess. Claims on life span of DVDs is 100+ years when properly handled, meaning that your memories will last a long time for you, your children and grandchildren to all enjoy. And remember, it may not be too late to send us old photos that need to be restored and preserved on this more reliable DVD format.

Which DVD format do you use, and will it work in my DVD player?
We use DVD-R (DVD dash Recordable) DVDs for our projects and they have about a 95%+ compatibility with DVD players. Just to be safe, please check your DVD player's user manual or call the manufacturer to verify that it will play DVD-Rs. If for some reason you would need your project on a different type of disk, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. For more information on different types of DVDs, DVD players and DVD-Rs go to VideoHelp.com, they have a great wealth of information on DVDs, DVD players and compatibility issues. Please know that NTP Memories in Motion is not responsible for checking if your DVD player is compatible, no refunds will be awarded for non-compatible players.

Which home video formats do you transfer?
Currently, we can transfer several video formats for the home movie video transfers, such as VHS, 8mm cassette (including digital 8, hi 8, video 8, etc), MiniDV and digital formats (avi, mpg, mov). We also now offer transfer of your regular or super 8mm reel to reel film! So if you don't see your format listed, please ask and we will let you know if we have the capability.

Can you transfer my 8 mm or 16 mm reel to reel film to DVD?
YES! We now offer the services to transfer regular and super 8mm reel to reel film to DVD. We clean all of your film, and then use a very high end transferring system that captures your film frame by frame, once transferred to our digital editing systems - we can do color correction and edit your film down to the content you want from the film. It is great to find out what is on those old home movies.

How much video will my DVD hold?
A typical DVD-R will hold about 2 hours of video.

There is also the possibility of using DVD+R (DL) or Dual Layered DVD+R media, this media can hold almost twice as much data as a regular DVD-R. This media is still more expensive at this point in time, and is requested to only be used on certain projects. Also, since this is a fairly new media format, there are still some slight compatibility issues.

Someday soon hopefully, we will be talking about even better technologies, like Blue-Ray or HD-DVD, so that we can store more data, or better yet Hi-Definition video!

What if I don't have a DVD player?
Depending on what kind of service you are looking at, we have other options if you do not have a DVD player or access to a DVD player. For montages and video transfers, we currently only offer the final products on DVD. DVD players are very reasonably priced today, with some priced as low as $40. Otherwise, for our Archival and Restoration services, we are happy to place the photos we transfer for you onto a CD-R if you do not have a DVD-R on your home computer. Just let us know your needs and we will help in any way we can.

Will you copy copyrighted material for me?
We will not illegally copy any copyright material, such as Movies from Hollywood.

We also require you to own a copy of the music that we will use for your montages, or let us choose from our library of royalty free music.

If you send us copyrighted material without our knowledge, and you do not own a license to use that material, NTP Memories in Motion holds the right to reject transferring or using that copyright material. So please, just be honest and up front with us about the material you send us, just so we all avoid any copyright issues.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit card payments through Paypal. We also accept cash in person, and checks or money orders through the mail. On all orders, payment in full is expected before the final product is delivered. We will stand behind the quality of our work and fix any problems to your satisfaction.

Do you offer High Definition video or High Definition DVD yet?
At this time we do not offer high definition (HD) services. We will be offering these services soon, but we feel that until there is a proper format and method to provide the final product on, it is not worth the extra cost to our customers to yet use HD. We hope that the battle between Blue-Ray and HD-DVD discs can be settled quickly, so that we all can move forward into the future of home video presentation - High Definition! If you are in need of us to for sure capture something in HD, let us know and we can always try to accommodate you.
